Advantages of Goretex
Goretex is a high-tech fabric that is regarded is the best fabric for outdoor apparel, due to the fact that it is both waterproof and breathable. There are many types of clothing made with this performance fabric-everything from goretex dress casual shoes, rainwear, boots, jackets, gloves, and more. Gore-tex apparel has become the choice of outdoors sports enthusiasts.
Gore-tex fabrics have a porous membrane, with 9 million pores per square inch. Since these pores are so small, water cannot penetrate through the gore-tex material, however, water vapor molecules (in the form of perspiration) is small enough pass through. This micro-porous surface allows gore-tex fabrics to be water resistant and breathable at the same time.
Compared to nylon, gore-tex clothing keeps you cool and dry, while nylon can leave you feeling damp and cold because of the trapped perspiration. Gore-tex shoes compared to regular shoes exhibit the same similarities.
