Under Armour: Leader of the Performance Apparel Industry
Under Armour is the leader of the compression performance apparel market, and has supplied athletes, college teams, and professional organizations such as the NHL and MLB with its clothing. Under Armour gear come in many different types of clothing, everything from a cold weather hood, arm sleeves, headbands, shirts, shorts, socks, under wear, and even underarmour football cleats.
There are a variety of different subdivisions of UnderArmour clothing. Heat Gear, Loose Gear, Cold Gear, Tactical Gear, and Wet Gear, all have their unique and distinctive qualities.
UnderArmour is owned and founded by Kevin Plank who hated traditional cotton t-shirts because they became heavy with absorbed sweat during games. Under Armor sells their apparel over the Internet, through catalogs, and more recently in retail sporting good stores.
UnderArmour’s reputation is unmatched in the moisture wicking apparel industry. Their innovative fabrics and dedication to authenticity in their marketing have propelled under armor from an unknown company to a force to be reckoned with.
